A love for the arts and a lasting tribute.

  • Tribute to

Morgan Mallory owned the Corner Frame Shop & Leucadia Art Gallery for 41 yrs when he passed away late 2019. He was passionate about art and because  his business was located in the growing community of Leucadia, in the CIty of Encinitas, he was motivated to become civically engaged in that growth.  Morgan founded the Leucadia 101 Main Street organization which serves as the liaison between businesses, residents and the City. He also founded Leucadia's largest annual event, the LeucadiArt Walk, a juried art show that brings in approx 5,000 attendees each year. The wildly popular Leucadia Farmers Market, open every Sunday bringing farm fresh food, excellent products, a variety of delicious food vendors and entertainment was also his idea and mission.  For decades Morgan fought for safety, infrastructure improvements and preservation of character of Leucadia.

Art Can't Hurt You, the Morgan Mallory Art Foundation is a way of keeping his legacy alive while continuing to serve the public.

  • Keeping Morgan Mallory's legacy alive is important to our board and the community. The non profit is a vehicle  to inspire, fill needs and participate in encouraging mental and emotional health through creativity and connectedness within our families, neighborhoods and community.

  • Morgan Mallory had a big personality and was known for his wit and  natural ability to make people laugh. He used to say Art Can't Hurt You and we found it on signs he had painted,  the words etched into the top of a small wall  and into the sidewalk at his place of business. He used his passion to inspire kids, to teach them that there is no wrong or right when creating or looking at art, that whatever fills your heart and soul is good, that art can be emotional and spiritual nourishment.

  • We are developing a few different art programs to serve the public and will initially concentrate on coastal north county San Diego.

Encinitas Arts Alive is a 25 year established event recruiting upto 101 local fine artists who paint banners that hang on light poles along a 6 mile stretch of Coast Highway 101 from Leucadia to downtown Encinitas and Cardiff by the Sea.  A grand Unveiling of the Banners event kicks off the beginning of Arts Alive. This past year we had approx 250 attendees. After a 3 month period of the banners hanging on light poles for the public to enjoy, a live Auction of the banners takes place with a professional auctioneer. Bidders win their original banner art and half of the winning bid goes to the artist and the other half stays with the non profit to help fund the following year's events.

  • We are developing internship opportunities for college students to satisfy educational requirements and provide an experience to a variety of careers in the arts.

  • We are currently developing this program.

  • We are developing working relationships with local business owners and other non profits. We also have partnered with the City of Encinitas on certain projects. Contact us with any questions or how to become involved.

  • The public can participate in our fundraising  events and donate online. We are a 501 (c) 3 with tax exemption.
